Orange County sheriff’s investigators asked for the public’s help Friday contacting the family and helping to identify a man whose body was found earlier this month along the shoreline near 32nd Street and Oceanfront in Newport Beach.

The body was found early Oct. 11, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

The man appears to be white or of Asian or Middle-Eastern descent, who was 15 to 25 years old, was 5-foot-9 and weighed about 130 pounds, Hallock said.

He had long, black hair and brown eyes and a small, healed surgical scar on the right side of his neck, Hallock said.

The man was wearing orange and white Hawaiian print swim trunks and a black, button-up dress shirt with faint vertical lines, Hallock said.

Anyone who has helpful information was asked to call investigators at (714) 647-7411 and refer to case 14-03965-MM.
