A 16-year-old Yorba Linda girl who had been missing was back home Monday, authorities said.
She returned home after two nights away, telling her parents she spent the weekend with a friend, an Orange County sheriff’s lieutenant said this morning.
The girl returned to her family’s Yorba Linda home unharmed at 10 p.m. Sunday, said Orange County sheriff’s Lt. John Roche.
“She was not the victim or suspect in any crime,” Roche said. “She said she spent the weekend with a friend in Tustin.”
She may not have told her parents where she was going due to “family issues,” he said.
The teen went missing after leaving her home about 5 p.m. Friday. She was believed to have been headed to Anaheim for Esperanza High School’s football game against Yorba Linda High School, according to the sheriff’s department.
