One Black Friday shopper at a Tustin Kohl’s department store was arrested and two others were questioned following a fight near the second-floor baby section that left two people injured.

Police were called to the store in the 18100 block of Irvine Boulevard about 1 a.m. regarding a disturbance between customers, Tustin police Sgt. Ryan Coe.

Coe said the two victims were found near the baby section.

One victim was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana “as a precaution,” Coe said. He did not know the exact nature of her injuries but said they were not life-threatening. The other victim suffered lacerations.

“Kohl’s security advised three female suspects were responsible for the assault,” Tustin police Lt. Robert Wright said. He said one suspect was found in the store, but two others had fled. Officers were able to contact them and they returned to the store, Wright said.

One suspect, 19-year-old Samantha Rivera of Tustin, was booked into the Orange County Jail. The second suspect, a juvenile, was released to her parents. A third suspect was released pending further investigation, Wright said.

According to the store’s website, it opened for Black Friday at 6 p.m. Thursday and was to remain open until midnight Saturday.

Anyone with information on this fight was asked to call the Tustin police at (714) 573-3257.
