A 49-year-old man was critically injured in a fight Tuesday in his cell with another inmate at Theo Lacy Jail.
The altercation between the victim and his 39-year-old cellmate occurred just before midday, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Hallock said.
The victim was found unconscious inside the cell, Hallock said.
The names of victim and suspect were being withheld pending the outcome of the investigation, which was being conducted by the Orange County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigations, Hallock said.
