A 39-year-old man was charged Friday with murdering his cellmate at the Theo Lacy Jail in Orange.
Lan Huu Pham is accused of fatally injuring 49-year-old Thiep Truong Nguyen during a fight Tuesday in their cell.
Nguyen, of Westminster, was found unconscious inside the cell, and died of his injuries at a hospital on Wednesday, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Hallock said.
Pham, who listed his occupation as a mechanic, had been in custody since Nov. 25, though why he was initially arrested was not immediately available.
