A small plane blew a tire on landing at John Wayne Airport Tuesday, but the pilot was able to safely stop the air craft and avoid injury.

The Beechcraft Bonanza made the bumpy landing on Runway 20 left at 4:10 p.m., according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.

The right front tire was flattened on touch down, leading to a hydraulic leak, Concialdi said.

Firefighters put the plane on a dolly and towed it to a safe place.

The pilot and two other men aboard escaped injury, Concialdi said.
