A seventh-grade teacher at a Placentia school is facing felony charges of sexually assaulting an underage female relative, and Orange County prosecutors said Wednesday they suspect there may be other alleged victims.

Christopher Millette is due in court tomorrow for a pretrial hearing on one count of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 years old or younger and two counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a child younger than 14. He also faces a sentence-enhancing allegation of substantial sexual conduct with a child.

The 36-year-old Fullerton resident was teaching at Valadez Middle School Academy in Placentia when he allegedly molested the victim, who was not a student at the school, according to prosecutors.

The child, who is younger than 10, was sexually assaulted between Aug. 1, 2012, and Dec. 28, prosecutors allege.

Millette, who faces up to 19 years to life in prison if convicted, was arrested Dec. 31 and held on $1 million bail, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Millette’s employment status with the school was not immediately clear, but the school’s website does not list him among its teaching staff.

Investigators, who suspect there could be other victims, encouraged anyone with information to call Supervising District Attorney Investigator Kelly Core at (714) 347-8794.
