A former deputy juvenile correctional officer accused of punishing three youths under her care by rubbing their shoes in urine when they had accidents was charged Wednesday with child abuse.
Tamie Marie Bieker, 38, of Santa Ana, could face up to three years behind bars if convicted of three misdemeanor counts of child abuse.
Bieker worked in Juvenile Hall in Orange until her employment was terminated Dec. 20, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
In three separate incidents involving three teenage boys last year, Bieker is accused of rubbing the youths’ shoes in urine as punishment on July 21, July 28 and Aug. 6. In two of the cases, the defendant refused to let a 17- year-old and a 13-year-old go to the bathroom, prosecutors allege.
