An Amtrak train was stopped at the Fullerton Station and evacuated Sunday evening after police received a phoned threat that there was a bomb aboard, authorities said.

Amtrak police notified local counterparts about 6:55 p.m. that someone had called to say there was a bomb aboard southbound train number 4, Fullerton police Sgt. P. Gharah said.

They had tracked the train to Fullerton and it was stopped at the station, which was also evacuated, Gharah said.

A bomb squad from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department searched the train, but turned up nothing, police said.
