A fire that appeared to have been set deliberately broke out inside a vehicle parked in Anaheim, extensively damaging its interior, authorities said Friday.

The 2014 Jeep Compass was parked near an apartment building in the 300 block of North Magnolia Avenue when its owners noticed around 10:35 p.m. Thursday that one of its doors was slightly open, said Anaheim Fire Department Engineer Roger Domen.

The fire appeared suspicious and was being investigated, Domen said. No one was hurt.
