The boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting, which was reported at 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Vine Avenue and South Rancho Santiago Boulevard, said Lt. Jeffrey Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment.
