Police in Orange shot and wounded an armed man Thursday at a residence, authorities said.
Officers were sent to the 1900 block of East Rose Avenue at 4:30 a.m. in response to a 911 call reporting “a man threatening people in the house with a firearm,” said Orange police Sgt. Phil McMullin.
The officers confronted the man, and he was shot, McMullin said.
The 23-year-old man was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening, McMullin said. No officers were injured. Police recovered a firearm at the scene, McMullin said.
Another man at the location suffered an unspecified injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
