Justin Thomas Yrrarazaval was taken into custody Friday morning in the 1300 block of North Spurgeon Street and booked on suspicion of robbing the Schoolsfirst Federal Credit Union, 2115 N. Broadway, about 4:40 p.m. Thursday, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

The suspect, who was wielding a black handgun, told a teller he had a bomb while demanding cash, Bertagna said.

An officer who responded to that heist later viewed video surveillance footage from the bank and recognized the suspect from a prior petty theft arrest, Bertagna said.
