Police on Friday were investigating the “suspicious” death of a man whose body was found at an Irvine construction site early the same morning.
Employees at the construction site at Wolf Trail and Orchard Hills made the discovery about 5 a.m., police said. The body was face-down in a remote area of the site.
There was no immediate word on the cause of death or the man’s identity.

Irvine police said the victim is in his 20s, about 5 foot 10 to 6 foot 1, 200 pounds, wearing dark jeans, a black and white checkered shirt with a black undershirt, and black and red Nike shoes.
Cal/OSHA was not notified about the death, so it is apparently not a result of a workplace accident, said spokeswoman Julia Bernstein.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call IPD Detective Sarah Tunnicliffe at 949-724-7170.
