A man suspected of causing a disturbance in a Walmart store in the city of Orange cut himself during a confrontation with security guards and was arrested with the help of a police dog, police said Monday.
The incident at the Walmart in the 2300 block of North Tustin Street began about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, said Orange Police Lt. Dennis Gomez.
The man was causing a disturbance inside the store and refused to leave when asked by security guards, suffering a minor cut with his own knife when he brandished it at them, Gomez said.
The man finally left the store, the lieutenant said. Officers caught up with him outside the nearby Target store and a police dog helped collar him.
The man was transported to a hospital for treatment of bite injuries to his shoulder before he was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Gomez said.
