Authorities Friday sought the public’s help in identifying a man linked to three bank robberies in Orange County since March, including one on Thursday in Mission Viejo.

The so-called Snowbird Bandit is suspected of robbing the Wells Fargo branch at 24471 Alicia Parkway on Thursday, the First Citizens Bank branch at 29818 Santa Margarita Parkway in Santa Margarita on May 22 and the Cal Bank & Trust branch at 24034 Camino del Avion in Monarch Beach, said Laura Eimiller of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office.

“During two of the robberies, the suspect displayed a revolver as he demanded cash,” Eimiller said. “In the robbery that occurred in Mission Viejo, the suspect carried a white pouch with the word “medic” printed on it.”

The suspect, who is believed to be 55 to 60 years old, has been dubbed the Snowbird Bandit because of his suspected age and white hair.

He is further described as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 to 200 pounds. In bank surveillance images he can be seen wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information regarding this man’s whereabouts was urged to call the FBI at (310) 477-6565.
