A search is underway Monday for a 64-year-old man who left his Laguna Woods home telling his mother he wanted “to look at the waves,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Keith Caudill was last seen leaving the home he shares with his mother at 2158 Via Mariposa East at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, said sheriff’s Lt. Joe Gaul. Since he “wanted to see the waves,” he may have been headed to Laguna Beach or Newport Beach, he said, adding that the sheriff’s department has notified beach cities police departments to be on the lookout for Caudill.
Witnesses told deputies they saw the man, who uses a walker, get into a car, possibly a taxi, Gaul said.
“He has a variety of medical issues,” the lieutenant said. Caudill needs medication and can become disoriented without it.
Caudill is while, 5 feet 8, 195 pounds, with gray hair. He was wearing a blue Pendleton shirt, black pants, brown slippers, white socks and prescription glasses.
Anyone with information on Caudill’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at (714) 647-7000.
