The body of a 47-year-old man was found in a flood control channel in Seal Beach.

Due to trauma found on the victim, the Seal Beach Police Department is conducting a suspicious death investigation in conjunction with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, said Seal Beach Police Sgt. Phil Gonshak.

Police did not reveal details on the trauma found on the body.

The victim was found Monday around noon, unconscious, lying face down in the Seal Beach rock line in the flood control channel west of Bolsa Chica and Rancho roads, Gonshak said.

The victim’s name will not be released until a next of kin is notified, Gonshak said.
