Placentia Police Thursday sought a masked, sword-wielding man dressed in black who robbed a drug store.

The robbery happened about 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at Walgreens, 1201 E. Yorba Linda Blvd., according to Placentia Police Lt. Eric Point.

The robber got away with about $200, Point said.

The robber wore what appeared to be a ski mask, but the call came in to dispatchers as a “ninja” mask, Point said. The robber took off the mask a short distance from the store and was described as a white man about 29 years old with curly brown hair. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds and was clean shaven.

The robber’s leather jacket, shirt, jeans and gloves were black, Point said.

What made the robbery even more unusual is that the suspect was satisfied with the cash, Point said.

“Usually in pharmacies the demand is for prescription narcotics,” Point said.
