“Officers came into contact with an individual with a weapon, there was an officer-involved shooting (and) the suspect was struck,” Bertagna said, adding that the male suspect was in stable condition after being taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
The weapon was recovered at the scene, he said. He did not know if it was a gun.
The male’s age was not immediately available, Bertagna said.
It was not clear what led to the shooting.
