A 31-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to negotiating bail bonds without a license and was placed on three years of informal probation.
Orange County Superior Court Judge Robert Fitzgerald, who offered Derek Leslie O’Lear of San Bernardino a plea deal, suspended a six-month jail sentence pending his successful completion of probation.
Fitzgerald also reduced four felony counts to misdemeanors.
O’Lear was working at Bail Hotline Bail Bonds in Santa Ana without a license in 2011, according to Deputy District Attorney Brock Zimmon.
He helped negotiate terms of bail bond agreements with four inmates from October to November 2011, Zimmon said.
