A suspicious package in the parking lot of a Walmart in Laguna Niguel had no explosives or hazardous materials in it, but contained books.

Authorities were notified about 6:45 p.m. Saturday of the suspicious package at 27470 Alicia Parkway, said Orange County sheriff‘s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

The parking lot was evacuated and a bomb squad responded to the scene, and used a robot to inspect the package, Hallock said.

No arrests were made and the scene was cleared just before 10 p.m. Saturday, he said.
