Mazroei was 22 when he suffered fatal injuries early Monday morning, stabbed in a fight at Patsy’s Irish Pub in Laguna Niguel.

Mazroei attended Putnam City North High School, but not consistently, said Steve Lindley, a spokesman for the public school district.

He attended the school in Oklahoma City the entire 2007-2008 school year, Lindley said, and was there for a quarter of the 2008-2009 school year before moving to a school outside the district.

“He enrolled again at the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year but moved to another school just a few months later,” Lindley said.

“There are no students still at the school who were there when he was there,” he said, and “many of the teachers and counselors who were at the school when he was there have since retired or moved on.”

The suspect in Mazroei’s killing was identified as 37-year-old Craig Tanber, “a documented gang member with a significant criminal history,” said Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock. Tanner is considered armed and dangerous.

“He frequents the south Orange County area and the city of Huntington Beach,” Hallock said.

Tanber is described as white, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 190 pounds with brown hair, hazel eyes and numerous tattoos covering his body.

Mazroei, a Laguna Niguel resident, was transported to Mission Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

His Facebook page indicated he was owner and CEO of Auto Gallery LLC in Santa Ana. A phone call to Auto Gallery on Monday afternoon brought only an answering machine.

Maserati lists himself as a graduate of Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City and says he is from Tehran, Iran.

“Be careful who you trust,” Mazroei said in a February post. “One person can change your life for the best, or worst.”
