A surfer was revived after he nearly drowned Saturday morning off the coast of Huntington Beach, police said.
An adult male was found in distress near tower 8 at 6:42 a.m., said Lt. Tim Martin of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Responding fire crews were able to revive the man, who was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries, Martin said.
The rescued surfer was not the individual reported missing Friday at Huntington Beach after swimming in strong rip currents, the lieutenant said.
