A 3 year-old girl who was not breathing when she was pulled from a backyard pool party Sunday evening in Tustin was revived by a doctor who performed CPR until paramedics arrived, an Orange County Fire Authority captain said.
The 911 call about a possible child drowning at a house at 2300 Hoxie Drive was received by paramedics at 6:32 p.m., OCFA Capt. William Lackey said.
“There was a party going on at the house and the little girl was found at the bottom of the pool by a doctor who was a guest at the party,” Lackey told City News Service. “She was not breathing when she was pulled out of the water and the doctor immediately started to perform CPR.”
When paramedics arrived at the house, the girl had started breathing again and was crying, Lackey said.
“The pool wasn’t being supervised and they were having a party at the house,” Lackey said. “They said they just lost track of her during the party.”
The child, Lackey said, was transported to a hospital in Orange and was expected to make a full recovery.
