A 20-year-old man who was crossing a street in Stanton just after midnight Thursday was stuck and killed, a police lieutenant said.

The collision took place at about 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Garden Grove and Beach boulevards, Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

According to Hallock, the driver of 2003 Hyundai heading south on Beach Boulevard struck the young man, who died at the scene.

Investigators were trying to determine who had the right-of-way, Hallock said. Alcohol and drugs were not factors in this collision, he said.

The driver stopped at the scene and waited for deputies.

The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin. No other injuries were reported.
