A man and woman were behind bars on charges of stealing packages from doorsteps throughout Orange County, police said.

Police allege video surveillance cameras caught Darci L. Peters and Matthew S. Speck stealing packages from doorsteps in the 5400 block of Willowick Circle and the 7100 block of East Mockingbird Way in Anaheim Hills, according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

The thefts were on Dec. 1 and Jan. 16, Wyatt said.

A neighbor caught a license plate of one suspect vehicle, which led police to Peters, who was listed as renting it, Wyatt said.

The two allegedly admitted to about a dozen thefts in Anaheim and Irvine, Wyatt said. Police have recovered stolen goods from thefts in Irvine, Costa Mesa and San Dimas, Wyatt said.

Peters, 41, of Las Vegas, and Speck, 31, of Anaheim were arrested Wednesday, pleaded not guilty on Friday and were ordered to return to court for a pretrial hearing on Feb. 1.

Peters is being held on $110,000 bail and Speck on $105,000 bail.

Peters and Speck are both charged with one count of grand theft, two counts of conspiracy and a count of acquiring access cards using different names, all felonies.

They are also charged with three counts of misdemeanor ID theft, according to court records.
