Authorities asked the public’s help Friday to find a hit- and-run motorist who struck and killed a pedestrian in Stanton.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was crossing Cerritos Avenue near Sherrill Street just before 7 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by a white Hyundai, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Stichter said.
The man — whose name was being withheld — was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We believe an adult female suspect fled the scene in a white Hyundai,” Stichter said. “The car was recovered a short distance away with significant damage to the hood and windshield. The female suspect was seen leaving the area after abandoning the vehicle.”
Police had no other additional information about her identity, he said.
