Orange County Sheriff’s officials Saturday said they have arrested an 18-year-old man they believe sexually assaulted two female high school students at Villa Park High School, with a belief that there might be additional victims.
Jared Jonah Linares, currently a student at the school, was arrested Friday and booked into the Orange County Jail, said Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Stichter.
The school’s resource officer obtained information about the alleged sexual assaults on Thursday. The Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Detail responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation, Stichter said.
“Based on information obtained during two days of investigation, investigators suspect Linares sexually assaulted two female high school students within the last year,” he said. “Based on Linares’ alleged sexual assault of two Villa Park High students, investigators believe there may be additional victims.”
