A man who suffered second-degree burns in a fire at a single-family home in Orange early Thursday was hospitalized in stable condition, authorities said.

Firefighters sent at 2:07 a.m. to the 200 block of North Thora Street found the victim trapped in a rear bedroom and took him to safety, said Orange Fire Department Capt. Casey Fieldhouse.

The flames were brought under control in about 20 minutes, but the blaze was officially declared out in about an hour, Fieldhouse said.
