[symple_googlemap title=”Lake Forest fire” location=”22200 Parkwood Street, Lake Forest, CA” height=”300″ zoom=”13″]A woman was hospitalized with burns and a firefighter broke his ankle battling a blaze in a Lake Forest home Friday that caused about $450,000 in damage, authorities said.

The blaze in the 22200 block of Parkwood Street started about 6:20 a.m. and took about 20 minutes to knock down, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.

The fire started in an upstairs bedroom and a 26-year-old woman who lives in the two-story house suffered first- and second-degree burns to her hands and smoke inhalation, Concialdi said.

The fire displaced her, her 8-year-old daughter and her father, who was not at home at the time, Concialdi said.

The cause of the blaze was “improper disregarding of smoking material,” Concialdi said.
