Metrolink service was delayed Monday evening because of a report of a pedestrian struck by a train in Anaheim, but it turned out no one was injured.

First responders were called about 5:45 p.m. about a pedestrian struck by a Metrolink train between South Street and Vermont Avenue, but authorities could not immediately find any evidence of it, Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.

An engineer saw a group of children playing around the tracks and mistakenly thought the train struck one of them, said Scott Johnson of Metrolink.

“Unfortunately, because of the investigation, multiple trains on the Orange County line will be delayed tonight,” Johnson said. “We always remind people to stay away from the train tracks.”
