UC Irvine police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who exposed himself to a student.

The student told campus police that a man had broken through a locked screen door of the student’s apartment in campus housing, UCI officials reported.

The student, whose gender was not disclosed by school officials, heard the intruder in the living room, and then moments later he exposed himself to the student in the residence’s bedroom, officials said. The student chased the suspect out of the apartment in the 10 p.m. Wednesday incident.

The suspect is an Asian man in his 20s who has black hair and is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He was clean-shaven and was wearing a royal, blue, long-sleeved shirt and dark long pants.

A photograph of the intruder was taken by the student, which the university released to the public.

Anyone who has information about the case was asked to call Detective Sgt. Charles Chon or Officer Ray Keith at (949) 824-5223.
