A 23-year-old motorist pleaded guilty Monday to a deadly hit-and-run crash in Santa Ana and was immediately sentenced to four years in prison.

The victim was walking across Fairview Street from the west side to the east side near Dahl Lane when he was struck by a southbound vehicle on Fairview just after 6 p.m. on Jan. 24, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

The victim died at the scene. His name still has not been released by authorities, as investigators have not been able to contact his family, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Mark Stichter.

The suspect’s 30-year-old sister and another Santa Ana woman were both booked on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony and conspiracy to obstruct justice, but it was unclear if they were ever charged.
