An attempt to rob a bank in Anaheim Monday resulted in a 45-minute standoff after several employees retreated to a back room where they called police.
The employees at the Wells Fargo branch at 1661 N. Raymond Ave. kept investigators up to date through closed-circuit video cameras of the suspect’s movements in the bank, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.
The stickup was reported at 9:09 a.m. When police arrived they demanded Pablo Arteaga exit the bank, but he refused until just before 10 a.m., Wyatt said.
Arteaga, 22, was booked on suspicion of commercial burglary and robbery and was being held on $50,000 bail, Wyatt said.
Arteaga did not have a weapon, Wyatt said.
