A former Westminster planning commissioner who was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of soliciting a $15,000 bribe from a confidential informant plans to plead guilty, federal prosecutors said.
Dave Phuong Dinh Vo agreed to plead guilty at an as-yet unspecified date, according to court papers filed June 2.
Vo was a planning commissioner from January 2009 through August 2011. On June 3, 2011, he solicited and agreed to take the bribe from the confidential informant, according to his plea agreement. The bribe was to make it easier for the confidential informant to obtain a conditional use permit for a liquor license, according to the government.
The confidential informant paid the bribe in August during four separate meetings, according to the plea agreement.
Vo faces between 21 to 27 months in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
