Police Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly burglarizing an Irvine electronics repair business after the owner saw the crime in progress via a remote video feed.
William Cortez, 24, of Santa Ana, was arrested at the scene following a standoff with police. He was booked on suspicion of commercial burglary and vandalism, the Irvine Police Department reported.
Officers went to the business on Sky Park Circle about 1 a.m.
“The owner called police after watching remote video and observing someone in his business,” according to a police statement. “Upon arrival, officers located a smashed window and the suspect was seen inside the business.”
