Police and paramedics were being hailed as heroes Thursday for saving the life of an Orange County toddler who was near death from drowning in a swimming pool.
The 15-month-old child was pulled unresponsive from a backyard swimming pool in Fountain Valley, but was revived at a hospital and expected to make a full recovery.
Officers were called about 7:05 p.m. Wednesday to the 11300 block of Coriender Avenue and took the toddler, along with paramedic personnel, in a squad car to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, according to Fountain Valley Police Lt. Ken Hounsley.
The child was revived and hospital personnel credited “the quick actions by emergency responders,” saying they “saved precious seconds and most likely saved the infant’s life.”
