Police sought the public’s help Friday in locating an armed man who robbed a gas station in Garden Grove.

The robbery was reported around 10:55 p.m. Thursday at a Chevron Gas station near the intersection of Katella Avenue and Euclid Street.

Police said the suspect was armed with a stun gun but initially displayed a handgun to the gas station clerk and demanded money.

When the clerk noticed the handgun was fake and didn’t comply with the suspect’s demands, the suspect then displayed the stun gun and demanded money a second time, said Garden Grove Police Sgt. Amir El-Farra.

The clerk complied and opened the register and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing in a gray Honda Civic, El-Farra said.

The suspect was described to police as black, with a thin build, wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap and a black jacket.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to contact the Garden Grove Police Department’s robbery detectives at (714) 741-5704.
