A 41-year-old reputed gang member accused in the shooting death of a man in a Garden Grove parking lot will be arraigned next month after he was returned from Mexico to face a murder charge.

Richard Adrian Trevino’s arraignment was postponed Wednesday until Sept. 16. He was charged July 25 with murder with a sentencing enhancement allegation for the use of a gun causing death.

Co-defendant Erica Amanda Stone, who is also charged with murder, was in court last Thursday, but her arraignment was postponed until Sept. 9.

The shooting happened just before noon July 18 in a shopping strip mall parking lot at 13478 Harbor Blvd., according to Garden Grove police Lt. Bob Bogue. Frank Brady was shot multiple times in the chest and head and pronounced dead at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, Bogue said.

Police tracked Trevino to Tecate, Mexico, arranged for local police to arrest him and brought him back to Garden Grove for questioning on Monday night, Bogue said. Trevino is being held on $1 million bail.

“It appears the victim was probably some type of gang member and the suspect was a gang member but it doesn’t look like it was a gang shooting,” Bogue said. “There was some kind of confrontation in the parking lot.”

Police were not revealing what sparked the conflict, Bogue said.
