Signs of trauma were seen on the bodies of a man and woman found in an Irvine home Wednesday, according to an Irvine Police commander, but he declined to comment on a possible cause of death.
Police were sent to a home on Hexham in the Turtle Rock Community about 12:20 p.m., according to Commander Mike Hallinan.
“It’s way too early to say” if the deaths were due to a murder-suicide, Hallinan said. “I can’t speculate at this point.”
Police did not immediately release the names of the deceased as authorities were working to notify their family members first, Hallinan said.
It does not appear there’s an immediate threat to the neighborhood, the commander said.
“At this time, there is no indication of an outstanding suspect or danger to the surrounding community,” Hallinan said.
Hallinan declined to say if a weapon was found at the scene, and he refused to release information about the person who first notified authorities about the victims.
