One person was killed Sunday in what appeared to be a crash of two sport utility vehicles on the San Diego (5) Freeway in Lake Forest.
The crash was on the northbound 5 Freeway at the Lake Forest Drive offramp, just after 7 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
One vehicle damaged about 40 feet of a guardrail on the right shoulder of the freeway, approaching the Lake Forest Drive offramp. The crash may have also involved a white Mercedes Benz SUV and a gray SUV, which stopped down the freeway according to the CHP.
A representative from the coroner’s office was dispatched to the wreck at 7:22 a.m., according to the CHP.
