A 59-year-old Laguna Niguel man was arrested Monday on suspicion of killing another man Sunday night.
Steve Richard Gilbert was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $1 million bail, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Mark Stichter.
Gilbert was accused of killing Thomas Robert Marston, 53, of Laguna Niguel, Stichter said.
Marston sustained what appears to be a stab wound in a dispute with Gilbert, Stichter said. The two had gotten into some sort of argument, but it was not immediately clear what prompted it, Stichter said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of an unconscious man at 9:54 p.m. Sunday in the 29000 block of Palo Drive, Stichter said. When they arrived they found Marston, who was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
Gilbert was quickly identified as a possible suspect and was arrested driving his vehicle in Mission Viejo, Stichter said.
