An investigation was underway Friday into the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a minivan and killed in La Habra.

Officers dispatched about 6:30 p.m. Thursday to a report of an injury vehicle collision in the 1000 block of West Imperial Highway found an unresponsive male lying in the roadway, according to a La Habra Police Department statement.

Paramedics arrived to treat the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The minivan’s driver and his lone passenger were not injured.

The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin,

Alcohol does not appear to have been involved, but the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, police said.
