The Orange County coroner’s office Monday released the name of a 79-year-old man who died in a hospital five days after he was struck by a vehicle in Placentia.
He was Placentia resident Ignacio Rivera, the coroner said.
Rivera died from his injuries at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at UCI Medical Center in Orange, said Placentia police Sgt. Adam Gloe. He was struck by a vehicle at 5:32 p.m. Jan. 20 while crossing Alta Vista Street at Jasmine Circle, Gloe said.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police, he said. DUI was not believed involved in the crash.
