A man accused of fatally shooting two of his relatives in an Irvine home was being held without bail Wednesday in an Orange County jail.

The Irvine Police Department has yet to disclose the relation between the suspect and the victims, whose ages and genders have not been reported, or the motive for the double shooting, which it characterized as a “domestic violence case.”

Police were called about 1 p.m. Tuesday to the home in the 14900 block of Crystal Circle, prompting a temporary lockdown of nearby Greentree Elementary School.

Two people were found dead in the home, and the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Nolan Pascal Pillay, also was found at the scene, according to Kim Mohr of the Irvine Police Department. He was booked on suspicion of murder.

Police believe the victims lived at the home.

A neighbor said a man and his two sons live at the house and have been there about 15 years, the Orange County Register reported.

A witness told ABC7 a person could be heard yelling “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” around the time of the killings.

Mohr told the Register that Tuesday’s homicides were the city’s first in 2017 and that there were three in 2016.

Pillay is due in court Thursday, according to Orange County online inmate records.
