Fire damaged a Buena Park liquor store Monday, authorities said.

It was reported at 7:11 p.m. at First Stop Liquor in a strip mall at 6090 Orangethorpe, said Capt. Stephen Horner of the Orange County Fire Authority.

Firefighters responding to an automatic fire alarm saw mild to moderate smoke coming from the back of the business, Horner said.

The 22 firefighters forced entry into the business and found flames in the back which they put out in about 15 minutes, he said.

No injuries were reported, Horner said.

The owner of the liquor store told firefighters business was slow due to the Super Bowl so he closed early at about 2:30 p.m., he said.

An adjacent Thai restaurant sustained smoke damage and would remain closed until approved to reopen by the Orange County Health Department, Horner said.
