The U.S. Coast Guard continued its search overnight  for a swimmer who entered the water and didn’t return to shore, authorities said.

Three swimmers were reported missing by a good Samaritan at 5:14 p.m. Saturday at Bolsa Chica State Beach, according to firefighters. Two swimmers were rescued and taken to hospitals.

The still-missing swimmer was identified as 18-year-old Shaun Linn, according to U. S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Sandra Kneen.

Linn failed to resurface about 50 to 100 yards from the beach, according to the Coast Guard, which sent a helicopter and a 45-foot rescue boat to the search, Kneen said.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department also had a helicopter and Harbor Patrol boat in the search and state lifeguards were involved.

Linn was reported to be wearing red and white trunks, according to the Coast Guard, which asked anyone with information to call (310) 521-3801.
