
A 24-year-old man in Orange was struck and killed by a large SUV, the coroner’s office said Saturday.
The pedestrian was later identified as Andy Hoang of Anaheim, according to the coroner’s office.
Hoang was struck at 9:07 p.m. Friday in the area of South Lewis Street and West Tiller Avenue.
Paramedics rushed him to UCI Irvine Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:42 p.m Friday, according to the coroner’s office.
There were no further details as a watch commander at the Orange Police Department could not be reached for immediate comment. It wasn’t known if drugs or alcohol may have played a part in the death, or if the SUV driver was being detained.
