A non-injury drive-by shooting occurred late Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of two Santa Ana elementary schools, which were briefly placed in a “lockout” mode, police said.
Someone fired shots out of a vehicle at an unknown target on Standard Avenue near Walker and Roosevelt elementary schools, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Lockouts were ordered for both campuses, but were lifted within minutes.
During lockouts, where danger is perceived outside of a school campus, administrators move all students and activities inside and ensure buildings are secured.
